Cynthia is an educator with a distinguished and varied background, blending her experiences as a lawyer and teacher to create an enriching learning environment. For 16 years, she practiced law, honing skills that would later enhance her teaching career. A decade ago, she made a transformative shift to education, starting first at Goshen High School in Goshen, New York, and then continuing at Millbrook High School in Millbrook, New York, where she has taught Regents Level Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, as well as Non-Regents Geometry Concepts and Skills, and both Standard and Higher Level International Baccalaureate (IB) Mathematics.
As an adjunct professor at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Cynthia brings a unique perspective to her math classes, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. Her ability to engage with students from different backgrounds and fields highlights her versatility and commitment to lifelong learning.
Cynthia’s dedication to her students extends beyond the classroom. As the coach of Millbrook High School’s Mock Trial team, she uses her legal expertise to mentor students, helping them navigate the intricacies of law and develop strong advocacy skills. She also serves as an advisor for the National Honor Society, encouraging students to pursue academic excellence, leadership, and community service.
Outside of her professional life, Cynthia is an avid gardener, finding tranquility and joy in nurturing her plants. She balances the dynamics of her career with a fulfilling family life, enjoying the company of her three children, two dogs, and two cats. Cynthia’s journey from law to education is a testament to her dedication, adaptability, and passion for fostering growth in others.
