Tax Exempt Organizations

If you are ordering from a Tax-Exempt Organization, please follow these steps to avoid paying sales tax on books purchased from this website. Any sales tax that is paid as a result of failing to follow these steps is not refundable.

Tax exempt orders MUST ship to the organization's physical address, NOT to the residential address of an employee.

1. Register for or sign in to your CourseWorkBooks Shopify account. Sign In
2. Go to the Home page of the CourseWorkBooks Storefront. Storefront
3. Press the % icon in the upper right (shown in a red circle below).
   
   
4. You should now be on the Tax Wisp site (below). Select "Tax Exempt" on the left menu.
   
   
5. To answer the questions, select New York or New Jersey, Educational Institution, and either Private School or Public School.
6. For Exemption ID, enter the organization's EIN or tax ID. Then Select and upload a copy of your Sales Tax Exemption Certificate. Press Submit Documents.
7. You will receive an email confirming your approval. This may happen immediately or within 24 hours. Look out for this email.

Once approved, you will no longer need to follow these steps. You may now purchase paperbacks on this site without having sales tax added to your shopping cart total. Just be sure to be signed in using the same email account at checkout.

If your submitted documentation is insufficient and CourseWorkBooks is unable to resolve the issue with your organization, this exemption will be revoked.
